Shravan month is very holy and a very beautiful time to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva. Special results are obtained in this month by worshiping Shiva. Shiva’s fast is observed every Monday in the month of Shravan. Every day in this month one chapter of Skandha Purana must be read. Shri Ramcharitmanas should be completed in this month. This month is considered to provide the desired fruit of desire.
In this year, on 6 July, the month of Shravan will start from Monday. After this, the second Monday on July 13, the third Monday on July 20, the fourth Monday on July 27, and the fifth Monday on August 3. The last day of Sawan will also be on 3 August on the festival of Rakhi.
Fasting is done on Mondays of this month. Some devotees observe a fast for 16 Mondays. Tuesday fast in Shravan month is called Mangla Gauri Vrat. Fasting Mangala Gauri in Saavan is beneficial for girls whose marriage is getting delayed. In the month of Savan, Sawan Shivaratri and Hariyali Amavas also have their own different significance.
